Nora Aunor’s singing voice is back

Yes, superstar Nora Aunor’s singing voice is back.
This she proved during the show of her best friend, German Moreno, over GMA Channel 7.on its 18th anniversary.
And she sang a full song in the weekly late-night show, “Walang Tulugan with Master Showman,”
Eric T. Cabahug of TV 5’s Interaksyon.com reported on the development extensively on their website.

He described that Nora was garbed in a yellow suit with a gray jacket when she appeared on centerstage escorted by Kuya Germs as the music started playing. And then she raised her microphone to her mouth to start her performance.
“It was obviously supposed to be a lip-synch. But apparently the technician forgot to turn off Nora’s mic. Her live vocals could be heard faintly under the song’s recorded vocal track during the first verse,” according to the report.
It was Nora’s first ever musical number since her showbiz comeback in 2011 and since she lost her golden voice during a botched operation in Japan in 2010.
The legendary music icon from Iriga City in Camarines Sur entered showbiz as a singer after she became champion in the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” talent show.
Nora sang the tender romantic ballad entitled “Habang Panahon,” the title track of the album Nora recorded in the United States in 2008. It was the first time ever she performed anything from the CD that has yet to be released in the Philippines.
The 10-track album, composed and produced by singer-songwriters Odette Quesada and Bodgie Dasig (of “Sana Dalawa Ang Puso Ko” fame), is Nora’s first album of all-new, all-original material since the “Langit Pala ang Umibig” album, written and produced by Freddie Aguilar, from the early 1990s.
Eric Cabahug reported that it was one of her best. “The songs, mostly light ballads witb a couple of uptempo tunes that wouldn’t sound out of place in an album by The Company, are classy especially by OPM standards,” he reported.
And they totally showcase Nora’s clear, rich, chocolate alto and, more notably, her special gift for musical emoting with soulful shading.
In an album of gems, the three that shine best are the anthemic pop-rock “Ganiyan Nga Ba,” the lovely “Starlight,” and the wistful title track.
Here’s wishing that golden voice returns soon so that Nora can record more brilliant OPM music that’ll last “habang panahon”.
“Habang Panahon” is available for purchase in CD and digital formats in cdbaby.com.
