It was in 2005 when The Word of Grace Family Christian Fellowship (C&MA) led by Dr. Richard Mirpuri as the Founder & Senior Pastor first joined a global, grass roots movement focusing prayer and attention on the Middle East, specifically Israel.  The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Israel, which was launched by a coalition of over 500 major Christian leaders around the world, drew participation from 53,000 local churches in 72 nations around the world that year. Since then, the Word of Grace – Chicago has been holding an Annual Day of Prayer for the Peace of Israel.
Last year, Dr. Mirpuri led in prayer for Israel in the Philippines at the City Alliance Church in Cagayan De Oro City under Rev. Noel Triviligeo and at an event that gathered many evangelical and Pentecostal churches that was organized by the Life Giving Spirit Ministries in Kabankalan, Neg. Occ. under Pastor Melquiades Plandes as well as with several other churches in Bacolod City. These churches and their pastors have now aligned themselves with the Word of Grace to hold their own annual day of prayer for the peace of Israel as well. The Word of Grace in Bacolod City under Elder Robert John Ciocon will hold its day of prayer for Israel on the last Sunday of February.
Dr. Mirpuri will be once again be leading Prayer Pilgrimages & Bible Tours to Turkey/Greece and the Isle of Patmos this year from October 11 – 21 with a 2 day Mediterranean Cruise and to Israel from October 31 – November 7 with an optional stop in Dubai. Both tours are open to participants from the US and the Philippines.  Anyone interested in getting more details regarding these tours may email Dr. Mirpuri at dick_mirpuri@yahoo.com. This once-in-a-lifetime, life-changing, spiritual journey to the Holy Land has many highlights that include worship on a boat in the middle of the Sea of Galilee, prayer time at the Western Wall, a “floating experience” at the Dead Sea, a cable car ride to the mountain of Masada, a visit to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem marking the birthplace of Jesus and many, many more.
