TACLOBAN CITY — The city of Manila has extended P16-million assistance to selected local government units (LGUs) affected by super typhoon Yolanda.
Mayor Joseph Estrada last week turned over to Tacloban City P5 million together with five dump trucks full of relief goods.
Estrada also visited the city’s devastated areas.
Aside from Tacloban, the province of Leyte and Javier town was allotted P5 million each while the municipality of Guiuan in Eastern Samar was given P1 million.
Estrada said that the provision of assistance was based on a resolution passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the Manila City government following an assessment conducted by their LGU on areas that are worst hit by Yolanda.
