Governor Quinn Showcases 150 years of Illinois Asian American Heritage

CHICAGO – Governor Pat Quinn today celebrated Asian American Heritage Month by opening an exhibit that showcases the contributions of Asian Americans to Illinois. The exhibit honors the remarkable impact Asian Americans have had on Illinois’ culture and economy for 150 years. It can be viewed for one week (May 20-24) in the James R. Thompson Center in Chicago. Obama cites Asian and Pacific Islanders, pushes reforms of US immigration system

WASHINGTON (PhilAmPress) – U.S. President Barack Obama closed the Asia and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration with a White House reception for their leaders, citing “the incredibly rich heritage and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders” in bulding the nation.
