Japanese war tunnels will be Albay’s next tourist attraction

CAMALIG, ALBAY –- The historic Japanese war tunnels in this town will be one of the new tourist attractions in Albay province.
This as Albay Gov. Joey Salceda has included in his top priority tourism program onsite and offsite development around Mount Kitwinan where a network of Japanese tunnels remain preserved and converting them into this municipality’s and the province’s eco-historical tourism attraction starting next year. Pacquiao resumes workout in GenSan, girds for LA training

GENERAL SANTOS CITY -– The road to restoring Manny Pacquiao to his old murderous form resumed last week with a 30-minute roadwork at the General Santos Sports Complex oval here. For the second straight day though, the eight-division world champion who has started preparation for his coming fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez a little over two months from now, canceled his normal workout at the gym later in the day. Trainer Buboy Fernandez said this is to give his boyhood friend enough time to rest his legs. Continue reading

Peace deal on Bangsamoro OKd

BUTUAN CITY — The Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) have reached an accord on a “Bangsamoro” government for Muslims in Mindanao. The accord which is expected to be signed soon between the two parties was hailed by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, US State Secretary Hillary Clinton and other leaders in the world and the Philippines.
