“Aquino gets himself a new toy–a Porsche,” headlines a newspaper. Instantly, the news report spread like a virus in the social networking media like Facebook and Twitter. And once again, denizens of cyberspace had a heyday criticizing President Benigno “P-Noy” Aquino III, this time for buying a 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo Carrera sports car. IN an attempt to control any damage from this latest “fallout,” P-Noy emphasized that it was a “third-hand” used Porsche he bought for a bargain price of P4.5 million only. But Mr. President, a Porsche is a “Porsche” and it’s emblematic of the “creamiest of the cream of the crop” in our society. Continue reading
