RP exports hit US $ 5.314 B in Sept

MANILA — Sales of Philippine-made goods abroad rose at its fastest pace in six months in December as shipments of electronic and coconut products continued to grow sharply.
This was reported by the National Statistics Office (NSO) which said merchandise exports in September went up by 46.1 percent to US$ 5.314 billion from US$ 3.638 billion in the same period last year.

QUEZON CITY — The House of Representatives approved Monday on third and final reading the proposed P1.645 trillion national budget for 2011 with the controversial P21 billion budget for conditional cash transfer (CCT) program intact.

Another Maguindanao massacre suspect yields

COTABATO CITY – A former vice mayor in Maguindanao province, who was tagged as among the suspects in last year’s Ampatuan massacre, voluntarily surrendered sunday morning to government authorities in Sultan Kudarat province.

Legarda: Senate duty bound to review VFA

PASAY CITY – Citing the several contentious provisions of the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) between the Philippines and the United States, Senator Loren Legarda said that Congress is duty-bound to review the treaty.
