Malaysian airline set to fly the Puerto Princesa-Kota Kinabalu route

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — A Malaysian airline is planning to fly to Puerto Princesa City soon. This means that the Palawan-Malaysia link is not confined to ferry service alone as MASwings, a division of Malaysian Airlines, has applied for a permit to operate at the Puerto Princesa International Airport. MASwings is planning to introduce service to the Philippines with its new fleet of ATR 72-600 aircraft, according to City Tourism Officer Rebecca V. Labit. Continue reading

2 Bicol tourism sites to get boost from USAID

LEGAZPI CITY — Two towns in Bicol which are favorites of tourists have been included in a new anti-poverty project under the National Tourism Development Plan.
Named as first priority target for the “One-Step Project” are the historic town of Daraga, Albay, and the scenic coastal town of Donsol, Sorsogon, the region’s ecotourism wonders that both play important roles in the Catanduanes-Albay-Masbate-Sorsogon Tourism Alliance (CAlMaSorTA), the tourism road map for Bicol. Sangley Point in Cavite pushed as international airport and seaport

BACOOR CITY, Cavite (PilipinasNews) – Senator Ramon Revilla Jr. has revived his proposal for the conversion of former United States naval station Sangley Point in Cavite City to an international airport and seaport which he claimed to be long overdue.

PH tourism looks forward to more double-digit gains

Philippine tourism sustains its robust performance as foreign visitor arrivals for the first four months of 2013 reached 1,649,458 million or a 10.12% increase from the same period in 2012. The first four months represent 30 percent of the target arrivals for 2013, with the month of January yielding the largest volume of 436,079 visitors and February generating the highest growth of 15.52%.
