POEMS FROM A LOST GENERATION

Poetry will occupy center stage on October 24, with the launch of the new book, Companionable Voices: Five Filipino Poets, at the Upper Lounge of the Malayan Plaza at Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The book contains a selection of poems by five contemporary Filipino poets from the 1960s who have been largely silent the last three decades and are collectively dubbed A Lost Generation. These are Cesar Ruiz Aquino, Recah A. Trinidad, Erwin E. Castillo, Wilfredo Pascua Sanchez and Juan Jose Jolico Cuadra, recently deceased. Continue reading

The Consulate General of the Philippines in Chicago, in its continued mission of providing the latest information about the Philippines to Philippine citizens in the MidWest, recently launched the free viewing of The Filipino Channel (TFC) in its Consular waiting area yesterday, 27 August. The TFC on demand IPTV set-up box and the TFC Premium Package, which includes, among others, ANC the news channel, Balitang Amerika and other news and public affairs program, were donated courtesy of TFC.
