THE WRITE CONNECTION
The Definition of a True Friend
October came and went without me having a conversation with Ting Joven or Angie Pineda Martin about a common and dear friend whose death anniversary happened to fall in that same month. Not that I didn’t remember him then because I truly did. I simply didn’t remember to bring him up in the few conversations I had had with these fine ladies. Continue reading
A Vote for America’s Future
Voting is not just a right, it is also a responsibility. It’s a duty or an obligation and it carries with it the burden of moral accountability. Thus, this right to vote must be taken seriously as well as exercised with great care. For in it rests the future of our nation and the direction it will tread in the next 4, 8 or more years. In fact, it could very well lead to the rise or downfall of a country. Continue reading
It’s Only Politics
Political conversations between people of opposing views often result in heated arguments and sometimes, fights. Even friends of two different political ideologies can hardly engage in a healthy debate because somehow one or both of them get all emotionally worked up and thus, lose their cool. I should know. Wedding Wishes
Our second son, Paul, is getting married on Saturday, August 4th to the woman he has chosen to spend the rest of his life with, Lynn Mella Hilao, beautiful daughter of Drs. Jaime and Lourdes Hilao. Bart and I are delighted to see Paul finally making the choice to start the next important stage in his life as a man – marriage. Continue reading
The Right Thang

Random Thoughts
In a world of heightened violence and chaos, how much of our individual woes actually matter? Perhaps the thought of impending global economic disaster is our best antidote to self pity and self imposed prison. Continue reading
I see it crumbling, The Wall of Separation Between Church and State
As soon as Barack Obama made history when elected as the first Black President of the United States in 2008, the rise to political prominence and strength of the newly formed Tea Party also marked the beginning of GOP’s apparent loss of control to the ultra Conservatives and religious Rights. Tea Party favorites also rose to prominence as is the case of Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Rick Santorum and others. Continue reading
“War on Women” – Fallacy or Fact?
I had my heart set on writing about the above subject since it is a hot topic these days. And this being a political issue, I expect it to linger much longer, at least for as long as the campaign season continues. Continue reading
Continue reading
A never-ending debate on political colors
April 1, 2012
One of the subjects that are liable to get a conversation going is politics. It is also one that people, who would rather spend their time doing something else, consciously avoid because they know how these conversations can lead to nasty debates and quarrels they’d rather not be a part of. Continue reading
